Statements The Academy may be where you begin your career, but our students will always be family…..long after they graduate . We will frequently have guest artist sessions, advanced hairdressing technique classes (that will count towards continuing education hours) and special events where we will see many of our alumni.

Complete Cosmetology course – 1500 hours (VA state required)

    • Retailing, referrals & client retention

    Phase 2
    8 weeks – 280 hours
    • Consultations
    • Perming,color theory and formulations
    • Anatomy
    • Make up application
    • Nail care

    Phase 3
    11 weeks – 385 hours
    • Long hair dressing
    • Special event make-up application
    • Relaxer & texture services
    • Cutting theory
    • Cutting basic and advanced techniques
  • 4
    Phase 4
    4 weeks – 140 hours
    • Supervised lab time (practical applications on clients)
    • Finance
  • 5
    Phase 5
    19 weeks – 660 hours
    • Independent lab time (practical applications on clients)
    • State board preparation
    • Student project
    • Cutting theory
    • Completion, graduation, & taking the state board exam
